Adopt a Curling Rock in Sacramento!

The Wine Country Curling Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization seeking to expand opportunities for our community members to participate in the Olympic sport of Curling.

Wine Country Curling Club is seeking tax-deductible donations and corporate sponsorships to fund the purchase of new curling rocks.  New rocks can be engraved to display your name or your company’s name, creating a lasting legacy.  For a gift of $1000, $2500 or $5000, you can “adopt” one of more curling rocks by sponsoring a message on the handle of each rock.  It’s a wonderful way to be recognized by curlers and visitors every time a rock is thrown.  Adopt a Rock today!

 

What are Curling Rocks?

• Wine Country Curling Club uses 5 sheets of ice at Skatetown arena in Roseville. Sixteen rocks are used on each sheet.
• Each rock weighs 44 pounds and is fitted with a detachable handle which can be inscribed with a personal or company name or logo.
• The rocks that we currently use were purchased some years ago in a refurbished state. While we are grateful to have used them for many years, they have reached the end of their life and need to be replaced.

 

Adopt a Rock Opportunity Pricing Suggestions:

$1000 – One Rock.  Engraved name or message on the handle of one rock.

$1500 – Two Rocks.  Engraved name or message on the handle two rocks.

$2500 – Three Rocks.  Engraved name or message on the handle of three rocks.  Two Complimentary Wine Country Curling Club t-shirts.

$5000 – Set of 8 Rocks! Engraved name or message on full set of eight rocks.  Free, 2 hour, Learn to Curl session for up to 8 friends, family or team members.  Eight, free “I learned to Curl at Wine Country Curling Club” t-shirts.

 

Engraving

• You can 3 have lines per side of the handle with up to 18 characters per line
• Rocks are available on a first come, first serve basis
• If rocks are removed from service (usually after many years), the handles with your information will be retained by the club and displayed at key events.

 

Advertising

• If you’d like to make a gift without engraving a rock or set of rocks, we also have advertising opportunities on bonspiel flyers and merchandise.
• Donations of any amount are always welcome
• Consider a “matching” gift as a way of encouraging others to support Wine Country Curling Club
• Tax deduction receipts for every gift

 

Goal

Our goal is to fully fund a new set of 80 rocks in early 2024 and purchase new, engraved rocks later in 2024. Donations will be designated for the rock purchase. Any funds in excess of the required amount will be held in reserve for future expansion projects.
