Join us on February 16, 2025 at 9:45am for our first ever TRIPLES session!
There are 3 curlers per team and each person throws 2 stones each (so only 6 stones are used).
Each end of 2 is divided into a set; therefore there are 3 sets per game. And each set is effectively a mini-game with the team with the highest cumulative score after 2 ends winning that set. Ties are allowed.
One of the defining features of Triples Curling is that curlers are required to play a different position every set. Example: player 1 starts off at lead for 2 ends, then goes to middle for the next 2 ends, and then skip the final 2 ends.
Blank ends are not allowed but the no-tick rule and the free guard zone are in play.
To determine hammer in the first end, each team will select one person to throw a DSC after 2 practice stones. The hammer for Set 2 would go to the team that didn’t get hammer in Set 1. Hammer in Set 3 goes to the team that is trailing the game. (If the score is tied before the 3rd set, then a coin toss will be used.)
Scoring:
Set 1: 2 points available (1 point/team if tied)
Set 2: 2 points available (1 point/team if tied)
Set 3: 4 points available (2 points/team if tied)
After the game, stay for the most important part: BROOMSTACKING! We’ll find out who is the winner of our first ever TRIPLES session.
